JOHN MCAFFERTYS ARGENTINA TRIP New York September IS John J McCaffertys turf relations with lawyer Jere Wernberg of Brook ¬ lyn will soon be dissolved Wernbergs horses in ¬ cluding Masquerade Grimaldi Frizette Big Ben Druid and Tubal will be sold at public auction at Gravesend next Thursday McCafferty will sail for Buenos Ayres October 20 and will arrive there alnnit November Hi McCafferty says that he has received a sort of an otter to train some horses there but will take no racers with him He has Iwen identified with the turf in this country for many years Some time ago because of a selling race war with Boots Durnell at Los Angeles Mc CalTerty and Durnell were both ruled off the turf only to be reinstated later McCafferty formerly trained for Wernberg but since lit got out of hi California trouble he has not had a license to train on the Jockey Clubs tracks Still he has had a say in tbe handling of Wernbergs horses though not actually saddling them themMcCafferty McCafferty is a Texan by birth and speaks Span ¬ ish like a native This talent will be handy to him in Argentina lie began his turf career as a stable boy and has been rider trainer owner and breeder in all American corners McCafTerty will first try his luck in the Argentine Republic If he does not make out well there he will try Eng ¬ land GermanyThere and then France and finally Germany There is no reason why McCafferty would not do well anywhere for he is a thorough horseman
