SARATOGA STILL ANGRY AT GOV HUGHES HUGHESPersonal Personal Liberty League Has 1500 Members Pledged to Vote Against the Governor Saratoga N Y September IS It seemed as though it needed only the nomination of Governor Hughes to touch off the enthusiasm of the members of Saratoga Branch Personal Liberty League At a meeting of the branch at which officers were elected it was announced that it now has 1500 members every one of them a voter who will vote against Hughes The officers elected Were President Fred M Waterbury vicepresident William B Millimaii treasurer William I Eddy and secretary James N Heasllp HeasllpThe The members of the branch were elated with the nomination of Governor Hughes for reelection They all preferred to meet him at the polls and there encompass conventionThe his defeat rather than in the convention The right place to fight this matter out said President Vaterbury is the field where it will now he fought There might have been a question as to whether or not the state convention had followed tlie will of tlie people There can be no doubt as to the verdict that will be rendered next November Practically NovemberPractically all of our 1500 members are Repub ¬ licans I think at least eigfcty per cent of them are They all voted for Governor Hughes when he ran l efore Not one of them will vote for him this time If it is any satisfaction to him to know that tlie voters of his party have turned against him 1 trust le enjoys it to the full extent
