Merrick followed Marbles closely for the first half, then moved np gamely when called on and got up in tho last, few strides. Marbles, awny poor y. showed high speed and ran into a long lead, but tired near tho end. Financier had much tho best of the start, but only ran fairly well. Deuce went moderately well and wia show improvement. Maycolla wan badly outpaced throughout. The winner was in for 00: ho bid. Mrs. Sewall had a rough trip and finished gamely. Floreal closed a gap nd was gaining fast at the end. Boadlcea was close up for the first hair. Azo came from a long way back in the last quarter.
