JUDGE HAMILTON ON THE WARPATH. Hands Out Fines Right and Left Goldway Left at the Pest Rosegal Wins. Los Angeles. Cal.. December 7. The racing today was replete with exciting Incidents, from the hissing of starter Holtinan. when he left the heavily backed Goldway at the jiosit, to :the numerous findings of Judge Hamilton. Holtmans assistant was responsible for Goldways failure to get away, as he had the gelding turned the wrong way when the barrier went up. The crazy antics of Proper at the barrier in this race were resiKmsiblc in a measure for the IMior start. As jockey Shilling made no attempt to ride; Goldway out after the poor send-off lie was fined 00 by Judge Hamilton-. S. A. Olopton also came under judicial wrath, being mulcted 00 for sending his lilly. Nebraska Lass, to the post In the first race with blinkers on without permission of the judges. Jack Witt was well backed in the second race, but to the surprise of his many backers refused, or apparently refused, to start when the barrier went up. After questioning jockey Schlesinger for some time Judge Hamilton did not like the looks of the race and ordered the refusal of any further entry of Jack Witt. In this race Animus, heavily supported at 7 to 5. waited on Varietes. which was the only horse in the race to get off in his stride, to the head of the stretch and then easily overhauling the leader, won as his rider pleased. Some of the best sprinters at the1 track ran in the third race at five and one-Iralf furlongs. The talent was successful in picking the winner. Uosegal. backed from 7 to 5 to G to 5. She got off Hying and tiptoed her opponents for the first live furlongs, but grew weary at the end. just lasting long enough to beat. Centre Shot. The attendance is gradually tucking up. an unusually large Monday crowd being present. Abe Levy. E. J. Callahan and Billy Connors are the latest bookmakers to arrive "here. All will probably Ik? seen on the block at the next cut-in. It. F. Leighton. who has been temporarily assisting Judges Hamilton and Cole in the stand, has been appointed permanently to the position.
