Won driving: second and third the same, l.alerlan broke slowly on the tar outside, but moved up like a shot while passing the first turn, then swung somewhat wide when entering the stretch, but finished fast and outstayed Nebraska Lass in a sharp last six.eenth drive. The latter raced forwardly throughout and stood a long stretch drive with rare gametics but was not quite good enough. Maid of Gotham made up ground gradually in the final quarter, finishing resolutely under the whip. Pert closed up much ground in the final quarter. Ben Trovato made his run too quickly on the far turn, but got through rlose quarters luckily and. standing a long stretch drive gamely, barely failed to win. Arcourt fell back on the far turn, but recovered fast in the stretch drive and finished fast. Pretension lost ground bv swinging wide on the turn for home. Ed Ball finished fast. Timothy Wen tired after entering the stretch. Neither King of Mist nor Jack Witt would break. The winner was entered for C0; no bid. Hasty Agnes was outpaced early, but came through witii a belated rush in the final hundred yards and was running fastest of the first three at the end. Czar ran a cracking good race, made up ground very fast in the linal eighth and finished gamely under the whip. Gold Heart quit when an eighth out. Colonel Bob left tiie post liatfooted and had little chance. Port Mahone showed speed to the stretch. The latter was the only one to get oft in his stride and gained a big early lead, but was tiring fast in the closing strides. An assistant starter had Goldway turned the wrong way when the hairier went up and he was left. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. The latter ran well ami. in a long stretch drive, finished gamely, but the winner held him safe all through the closing strides. Milpitas tired into a distant third In-tlio stretcii after siitting a fast pace for six furlongs. The others were never serious contenders. The winner was entered fo : no bid. -
