FORT WORTHS GOOD BEGINNING. Fort Worth. Tex.. April 2i. — Bright skies, warm , weather, a good track and an immense ciowd were the auspicious circumstances that contributed to make the opening day of the spring meeting of the ,, iort Worth Racing Association a huge success. Fort Worth is onlv thlrlv-lwo miles from Hallas. the largest citv in Texas, and the trolley cars from there were all crowded to the guards, which, to Berber With delegations from the nearby towns and I the local contingent, swelled the attendance to a , retard breaking point. Kxcellcnt racing marked the opening days program , and nearh even- rare resulted ill a close and exciting ~ , finish. Favorites were laiuacfal in all but two races one o which was won by Yitlando at 20 to , 1 iu the betting. Singleton and Yandiisen rode well, each bringing home two winners.
