MANY CRACK FILLIES TO COMPETE. Nominations to the Latonia Oaks Seem to Assure a Big Field and Exciting Race. Having closed for entries but recently, the Eaton, a Oaks has secured nominations of all the three-year-old fillies of the west that have shown good form in public or private. Under the circumstances it promisee to furnish a race hardly second in interest to the Latonia Derby and on paper suggests an unusually large field of starters. So far this year Crystal Maid. Cotytto. Little siss. Ada Meade. Alice. Irfaneh and Sorrowful have shown the best form oi those that have been raced. But the turf year is .-till young and report makes a number of the other young mares of striking promise. A race for three-year-old fillies is usually one of delightful uncer-taiutv and unless all indications fail, the Latonia Oaks this vear is bound to be a remarkably puzzling affair when it cornea up for decision.
