Fulford was lucky in escaping interference, showed much the most speed and. after racing loldproof into defeat in the tirst half, had enough in reserve to stall off the game challenge of Righteasy. The latter, forced to go wide most of the way. finished fast and probably was best. Boserrian was in close quarters through the last quarter and finished gamely. Pal ran well, but tired in the stretch. Irrigator closed a big gap in the last half. Come On Sam tired after being prominent for five furlongs. Goldproof had no mishaps and quit in the last quarter. Hogan. away forwnrdly, followed the early leaders closely and, under hard urging, came away in the last sixteenth. Slewfoot was in closest pursuit all the way and stayed well In the closing drive. St. Deiniol. showing much improvement, set a fast pace for three furlongs, bait tired in the stretch. Prince Imperial, a good colt, would have been much closer up and possibly the winner with a better rider. Short Order came from a long way back in the last quarter. Laveuo ran poorly. Jacobite saved much ground when turning Into the stretch and outstayed Madman at the end. Madman showed much speed in the early running and saved ground all the way. but quit in the last furlong.
