Louisville, Ky., September 28.-Mnny more horses have reached Churchill Downs within a day or two from various parts of the country and the overllow to Douglas lark has begun, as the stables at Churchill Downs are filled nearly to the last stall. From the east came the string of Colonel W. L. Applegate in charge of trainer .1. J. Flannigan, made up of Jupiter Joe. Cymbal. Captain Kennedy, Hugh McOowan, Calash and another two-year-old. Colonel Applegate will have an extensive stable next season, as he now has eighteen yearlings in John Bodegaps charge at Lexington. Some of the collection he bred, but the others lie bought as weanlings at Milton Youngs and Kd Corrigans closing out sales last year. They are the get of Wools- thnrpe. Cesarion. Scintillant II.. and other fashion- able sires, and are all-around a promising hunch of youngsters, the largest weighing right now close to : 1,000 pounds. J. S. Hawkins came in from Lexington with a string of six horses made up of Dainty Dame. My Henry, Lotta Creed. Olivia Miekle and two other two-vear-olds. one of which has the peculiar name of To-To-Yo-Yo. He set the work-watchers on edge by sending Olivia Miekle a half mile in 4S3. the fastest performance at the distance seen here this fall. Other arrivals from Lexington were W. J. Young. John Uodegap. Cy Hughes. Walter Crater and Lee Paul. The last-named brought in Foxy Mary and Peter Pender, while Young came with four.
