SHORTER MEETINGS IN BRITISH COLUMBIA COLUMBIAVancouver Vancouver B C January 17 Racing plans for British Columbia for 1110 are Indefinite as yet as the horsemen are waiting to see what action is taken at Ottawa on the racetrack legislation now before Parliament It is understood however that plans jire being laid for four big meetings in the province this year two each in Victoria and Vancouver The lengthy meetings of last year will be abandoned and shorter meetings substituted It is Intended to have four meetings of thirty days each The proposal now under consideration is for the season to open for a month in May at the capital giving Victoria the first big holiday of the year May 24 Then the horses would come to the British Columbia Thor ¬ oughbred Associat ions tine track at Minoru Park in June for thirty days of racing giving Vancouver Dominion Day After this meeting the horses w lid go hack to the capital in July for thirty da S and return here in August for thirty days Tl s last meeting would wind up the season with lh oxreptlon Itossibly of a week of racing for th Victoria exhibition Of course everything hinges in the action of Parliament at Ottawa but it is not thought that any adverse legislation will be
