GOSSIP FROM EASTERN SOURCES. New York, April th John T. Smith, trainer for J. L. MctSiimis. has arrived from the Idle Hour Farm, near Lexington. Ky.. with lour two war olds. Bob Vernon, v. bay colt by Broomstick— Bun of Luck, has the appearance of one that will come early to hand. Killarney Boae, a chestnut filly by Na-turtium Pink Baae, is put up on the general order of the Nasturtiums, although a bit heavier than im .-t of tin m. Waller Jennings received five horses at Craveseiid. They shipped on the same car with the McCiiini-two year olds. They are Star I.lile. a three vear old chestnut colt by Star Shoot Bonnie I.lile It. : lter-tis. a chestnut colt by Star Shoot — Fair Penitent: Explicit, a black tilly by Sir Dixon Expressing, ami Fair Star, a bay colt by Star Sheet— Amy Daveti poll. In the con-ignnieni also came Newmarket and Naughty Bay. Both were shipped to the Widener slock farm near Philadelphia, where they will be trained for the steeplechase field. Leon Fuller, a New York lawyer who rode as a non-professional last year, has three jumpers that former jockey John Oayle is training at Betaaaal Park.
