Of greater racing importance was the mile and an I eighth handicap, won most impressively by 11. P. Whitneys Dinna Ken, a six year old that raced in Fngland last season. The bt st horse he met was R. T. Wilson. Jr.s high-priced Olambala. which latter was making bis tirst start of the season. Reports of his work were so glowing that he ruled favorite. In the running it was Kinna Ken and the even pace he maintained made his performance onion which to base the belief that he will ably repro H nt the Whitney stable during the season. Olambala was second and the race will doubtless do him good. He was giving Dinna Ken nine pounds. Trainer Ilea le» was conlident and was not altogether pleased with the showing of the son of On. us. It. F. Carmans Scmprolus ran a surprising race when, under 110. he made a show of smile smart two-year-olds.
