OAKLAND RACING STATISTICS. The New California Jockey Clubs winter meeting for the season of 1!KC.»-10, which oi ened November 20 and came to a close June 4. embraced 14i racing days, during which time SSH races were decided, eniailinc a total distribution in stakes and purses of 73,423. This represented a great shrinkage in distribution as compared with the meetings at Oak-laud prior to the passage of adverse racing legislation in California last year. While there may not he immediately a full return of the prosperity which formerly marked the conduct of racing on the coast, the indications are that recent court decisions will lieriiiit the holding of a meeting next winter that will be more in keeping with the traditions of California racing than the one just ended and if there should 1m- no further inimical legislation, the California meetings probably will eventually regain their old-time iiniHirtance. The closing of ihe meeting recently held found H. tt. Bod well, who raced at Oakland only during a part of the California season, at the head of the list of winning owners with the resectable total of 1,425 to his credit, an excellent showing considering the reduced values of the purses raced for. Mr. Bedwells horses won no less than forty-six races during the meeting. Molera and Josephs stand second wjtu sixteen races and ,745. while third place goes to J. M. Crane with twenty-four races and ,315. The following lltt owners won 00 and over during the meeting: Owner. 1st. 2d. 3d. Amt. H. G. Bcdwell 4tt 33 £■ 1,425 Molera Ac Josephs 16 11 7 5.745 J. M.
