WILLIAM GARTHS JUVENILE PURCHASES. New York. July 22. — The yearlings that John B. Madden sold to William Garth this week are colts by Yankee — Ilka, Planudes — Love Note, flgden — Catherine Carson. Planudes — Lambent. Planudes — i Ivory Bells. The Scribe -Caprice. The Scribe — Sufficiency and Planudes — Self I»ve. These youngsters will be turned over to Mr. Garth after the Saratoga meeting. Mr. Sarth has in pre vioiis years bought i number of yearlings from the master of Hamburg Place and he has made out pretty well with them. Busy, one of the youngsters Mr. Garth bought from Mr. Ma.hren, was one of the best colts in Canada last season. Mr. Madden has not attempted to race his two-year-olds since 194IS. He has preferred to sell the yearlings of Hamburg Place and leave their development to other horsemen. The stable Mr. Madden has in training this year does not amount to a great deal. The master of Hamburg Place does not seem disposed to train horses these days. Jle appears content to give over to other trainers the product of Hamburg Place and leave the development id hi* two-year olds lo his friends.
