R. T. WILSON, JR.S YEARLING PURCHASES. New York. Julv 25.— Tlie pedigrees of the twenty yearling colts Richard T. Wilson, Jr.. has purchased from John K. Madden are gilt-edged, although there are no brothers to Sir Martin and Fayette among them. Here is the list: Chestnut colt, by Contestor — Hazing. Brown colt, by The Scribe — Imp. Brown colt, by Ogden — Byways. Brown colt, by Ogden — Lola A. All of these save tlie Hazing and Lady Amelia colt- were bred bv Mr. Madden at Hamburg Place. Edward It. Thomas bred the Lady Amelia colt at Hohndel Farm in New Jersey and if is the first foal of the brilliant daughter of Ben Brush and La Co-lonia. Mr. Madden purchased Lady Amelia carrying her Golden Garter foal at the dispersal sale of the Thomas stud in the fall of 1908. He paid ,000 for the mare. Carroll Heid. who developed The Picket for Mid dieted and Jungbliith. bred the Contestor— Hazing colt and Mr. Madden purchased the youngster with Han-ing from Mr. Heid. Hazing is a daughter of Ogden and Saratoga Belle and is a siste- to Fayette. The colt by The Scribe out of Imp is the famous black mares last foal. Imp died eighteen months ago at Hamburg Place. The Imp. Cleophas. Wltfall, Anodyne, Mary Bkick. Galea. Courtplaster. Old Lady, lllythia. Lady Schorr and Busy Maid colts are iu the Epsom Derby aud Two Thousand Ouineas of 1912. The Ogden— fcota A. colt la a brother to Timber and a half brother to Astarita, winner of the first Astoria Stakes at Gravesend. The lllythia colt i-; a brother to Mei lick., winner of two Derby g in California and one at New Orleans.
