GOSSIP FROM KENTUCKY SOURCES. Lo-iisville, Ky., August 1. — It is the expression of horsemen that under existing conditions the tracks of the Kentucky circuit should give not less than fifty days racing this fall. With a long winter season of sport at Jacksonville. Oakland. Juarez. Pen-sai-ola and Tampa, the racing situation brightens even in the face of the adverse outlook in New York State. Among the yearlings that John Miller took east a few days ago was a colt owned by trainer William Lakeland, the first of the get of The Picket, winner of the American Denby, Brooklyn Handicap ami other big races. The youngster is out of Hose of Gold, a good race Bfeare and a half-sister to Carroll B. Heids Ben Trovato, Initli lieing out of the royalty bred mare. Golden Hose, by Goldfinch. Mr. Lakeland is keeping The Picket at Hira Villa Farm, near Lexington, where he also has quartered the Futurity ir inner of IMS, Electioneer.
