WORK-OUTS OF EASTERN HORSES. New York. August 2. — Recent work-outs of hors-s in training at Empire City and Saratoga were as follows: Empire City — Weather clear; track fast. Beatric. — Five eighths in l:05ji. Has plenty of speed and has not yet raced up to her form. Ben Lasca — Three-quarters in 1:18. Looks good and works Well whenever asked. Cliff Cole— Three-quarters in 1:17?. Has shown a few good work-outs before this. Dike — Throe-quarters in 1:17«. Shows a good wav of going and a nice turn of speed. Diobold -Mile and a quarter in 2:14. Has been on tlie slow side for some time: now doing nicely. Dracoola — Seven eighths In 1 :.!0. Was under a pull and shows improvement. Dandy Dixon — Mile in 1:48. Has been showing plenty of speed iu ull his work-uuts lately. Dixie Dixon — Half mile in 51 g. Was under a pull throughout. Evening Coat — Mile in 1:40. Has shown a good burst of speed in other work-outs. Elinora — Half mile in 52j. Has a fine burst of s| eod, bnt was hard held. Faultless — Mile in l:47j. lias not been pressed much for speed, hut is ready to race. Horicon — Five-eighths in 1 :06. Shows a grand turn of speed and should race well. J. II. Reed— Half mile in 40. Has all his speed and is now at his best racing form. Music — Five-eighths in 1:05. litis shown a good turn of speed in all her work-outs. Moltke — Three-quarters in 1:17|. Looks good and ready, and works well. Naughty Lad — Three-quarters in 1:18?. Has not been pressed to show speed of late. Old Roy — Three-eighths in 37.
