August it. — Fall raring at Churchill Downs will begin October 1 and continue nineteen days, closing October 22, according to announcement made by Col. .Matt .1. Winn, general manager of tlie New Louisville Jockey Club, and in tlie opinion of Colonel Winn this falls mooting at Churchill Downs will be the most notable in the history of she Kentucky turf. For the lirst lime in learly twenty years valuable stakes will be offered for the fall meeting, ami Lexington and La ton hi will also fall in line and offer stakes of substantial size.
