_ RULINGS OF WINDSOR JUDGES UPHELD. Fort Erie Meeting to Be Held in October— Day of Upsets at Hamilton. Hamilton, Out.. August 15.— TW second day of the Hamilton Jockey Clubs midsummer meeting brought out another good attendance, Toronto sending down its full delegation of regulars, while there was also a good local representation. The card pro rided by Secretary Loudon was an excellent one. Besides the Uoval Canadian Handicap, there were Offered as attractions the Sandringham Plate and the Heaver Handicap Steeplechase. Cpsets cam: with marked freipieucy. outsiders taking the majority of the races. llayerin and Fnglish Esther were the onlv winning favorites. The greatest disappointment of the afternoon was furnished bv the Seagram stables Seismic, when, at o.ids of 1 to 2. he was beaten live lengths by Everett in the Sandringham Plate. Everett led his opponents from start to finish and at no stage was the result in doubt. Seismic suffered from interference in the first sixteenth and this in a measure may have been reaponsibli for his defeat. OH the lust turn Taplin cut across 10 the inside with Everett, forcing WnnilSII against the fence. Musgrave made a claim of foul against the winner, but it was not allowed. In the Bnyal Canadian Handicap, won by Tom Hayward Emperor William, which finished second, was disqualified lor fouling Flying Footsteps. Tin interference came in the stretch, where Emperor William took a tiring swerve to the inside, forcing Flying Footsteps against tin fence. Tom Raywara showed a remarkable performance. He broke slowiy and was a distant trailer in the early stages. In the homestretch he was taken to the extreme outside and. closing with a sensational rush, got up to win bv a neck. . The Schorr colors were prominent during the att-ernoon. BiyeriH proved the easiest sort of a winner in the opening dash, while Besponafnl won the clos-Ing race, marked by a stirring stretch drive. Bepori had it that owner Schorr profited handsomely over the hitters victory. He only recently purchased the tillv of It. T. Wilson. Jr.. and it was the Brat time that she ran in the Schorr interests. Interest in the days racing among the professional followers of the sport was overshadowed in a measure by an Important meeting of tke Canadian Racing Associations, called to act on the rulings recently made bv Judges Nelson and Price Their rulings were ratified. Jockev . Hoss. who was placed under the ban last vear for a kid-looking ride on Klfnl. was restored to good standing. The lad will ride for Kdward Trotter. * Hates were granted the Niagara Racing Association for its second meeting at Fort Frio from October 4 to October 11. The 0.001 Dominion Han dicap will be run at this meeting. The Montreal Jockev Club was represented for the first time at a meeting of Hie Canadian Racing Associations since the latter organization was formed. Ilartlett McLennan being the representative of the club. T. r. P.ucklev who got in trouble through the ride of Jockey T. Hnrty on Chief Kee in a race here last spring, applied for a hearing in his case. The matter was passed over. George Keif was among the visitors at the course this afternoon. He will ship his stable from Saratoga to Montreal. ... , it. J. Mackenzie saw his colors in a race for the lirst flaw this season on a Canadian track. Mr. Mackenzie recently arrived from Winnipeg. Dr. A. J. Smith, a director of the Ontario Jockey Club, is dangerously ill at his home in Toronto and is not expected to recover.
