NOTES OF THE TURF. F. Ilathman is making jockey A. Walshs engagements at Saratoga. The Fasig Tipton Company will hold its customary fall sale at Lexington in November. Former jockev John Shea is now assistant to trainer Peter Coyne, of George L Longs stable. Louis Martine. for whom James McLaughlin. Jr., trains, has purchased Idle Belle from J. F. Madden. W. OB. Macdonouirhs Orn.ondale will lie transferred to Kentuckv for the season of 1011,- it is said. John Sanfords Herbert Turner, a recent winner at Saratoga is named after an old-time Sanford employee. The stewards of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association have removed the restrictions from the riding license of jockey Harvey Boyle. Dagler. the apprentice of the James R. Keene stable, is a colored boy. Trainer James Rowe thinks that the lad will develop into a useful rider. Seventeen yearlings from W. OB. Maedonoughs Or ndale Stock Farm In California have reached Saratoga and will be sold before the close of the eastern season. Capt. E. B. The Sanfords. of Hurrieana Stud, and James K. Keene have asked the Fasig-Trpton Company to make arrangements to dispose of some of their horses. Neither Mr. Keene nor General Sanford will sell out entirely, but they desire to curtail their racing establishments to a considerable extent. Col. Matt J.
