VETERAN BOOKMAKER PASSES AWAY. . New York. September 2o. — William Snow, one of the best-known bookmakers on American and Canadian race tracks, is dead after a long illness. He booked at Qnttenberg. Clou, ester and Iron Hill In the days of race track outlawry, and amassing a fort! he operated on the big New York tracks. He became an luMtlltial member of the Metropolitan Turf Association the bookmakers crab ami occupied a prominent place in all of the old belting rings on the local circuit. Several years ago he caught a severe cold and lost his voice. His death was due to consumption.
