NOTES OF THE TURF. The Prix de la Societe des Steeplechase de France, ?S00, distance two miles and one furlong, was run at Cannes, France, yesterday and won by Ross Adams Louis tic IV. The Prix Deux Golfes, ,000. distance two miles, one and one halt furlongs, was won by T. 1. Thomes Paul Thomas. J. H. Alexandre, Perry Belmont, 1. J. Dwyer. Thomas Hitchcock, Jr., F. R. Hitchcock. James R. Keeno, C. II. Maekay. Andrew Miller, Schuyler L. Parsons. C. H. Warring, Harry Payne Whitney, R. T. Wilson and W. W. Worden have been elected directors of the Saratoga Association for the Improvement of the Breed of Horses for the ensuing year. A. J. Davis, a young New Yorker who raced the steeplechase horse The Dane last season, has do elded to take the field this spring with a string of half a dozen jumpers. John Jay OBrien, not very long since one of the most successful of American amateur riders, is another young Now Yorker who is likely to have a steeplechase string in action the coming season.
