JOCKEY DAVIS EUROPEAN ENGAGEMENT. Xew York, February 9. It is for Theodore AV. Myers tliat jockey Stanley Davis wilt ride in Belgium and France the coming season. Davis will leave this month for Europe and after reporting to Mr. -Myers trainer, AV. lloss Adams, at the stable near Brussels, will go to Nice, as there are two or three- runners there for the flat racing in -March. Theodore W. Myers, former comptroller of this city, bought one or two horses at Osteud last summer and soon won races, lie made more purchases and eventually took a. private training establishment at Grovenendael. about six miles from Brussels. Vis-eoiiiit Torrington also had. horses iu the stable, but .Mr. .Myers bought out the English peer last fall, tin; purchase including all the latters horses except two. AVith the two-year-olds there are about sixteen horses at the pretty training place, many of which are winners. What the stable lacked was a capable jockey. W. Boss Adams "Eddie Boss" has charge of the horses, about which Tod Sloan- has given advice. Sloan is residing in Brussels. The amounts to be won in stakes iu tho little kingdom are not large, but with lwokmakers making a fairly strong "ring" it is possible to make racing pay, for a stable can be run less expensively than in other countries. Flat racing begins in Brussels March 15 and continues almost daily until November 15, With the two months intermission fit Osteud. Mi. Myers, who leaves for Europe next Saturday, is very keen on racing and is especially partial to Brussels and Osteud.
