NAUGHTY ROSE outbroke the others and, -with her rider saving ground all the way, set the pace and was hard ridden through the homestretch to retain her advantage. SAUCE broke well and ran forwardly and gamely on the inside all the way. CHIEF JACKSON ran well and was carried wide when entering the homestretch, but outstayed MAXENTIUS in the final drive. The latter finished fast. FROG LEGS was cut off at the start and closed a big gap. ERELLA was bumped into in the homestretch and finished close up. NELLO can do better. DAY MAY showed speed. ROBINSON, a forward contender from the start, dashed to the front on the stretch turn, but was tiring under punishment at the end. GLANDORE closed a big gap aTter working his way up on the iusidc. LA U MEXICAN closed a big gap and finished with a rush on the outside. DEFINITE ran In much improved form, but tired finally. SAM MATTHEWS and JABOT showed early speed. HOFFMAN was taken back early and followed ELLA BRYSON under restraint until well around the far turn, then moved up quickly and drew away decisively in the last quarter. PRINCELIICE finished fast and was easily best of the others. COUNTY TAX ran well, but could never get up and only passed the tiring III, LA BRYSON in the last furlong. CASQUE was outrun, but close up. to the stretch turn, then slipped through on the inside and finished fast, but was driving hard to outstay GOLD DUST. The latter gained steadily from a slow start and. finishing with a good burst of speed, almost got up to win. ROYAL ONYX ran a good race, but was swerving all over the track in the homestretch and hit ALL RED at the furlong post and knocked the latter off his stride.
