MONCRIEF SCENE OF COUP J. W. MAY MAKES "KILLING" WITH TWO-YEAR-OLD FILLY, MISS WIGGS. Juvenile Scores After Being Backed from 50 to 1 to 12 to 1 Stewards Bar Ragman After Poor Showing and Threaten to Go Further. Jacksonville, Fla., February 20. J. W. May, who is handling a big stable here this winter, put over one of his occasional, good things this afternoon when Hie two-year-old filly, .Miss AViggs, galloped home winner of the opening lash. beating the favorite. Gold Mine, by a length and a half. Miss AViggs was one of the extreme outsiders in the early stages of the speculation, but was backed by Mr. May and his friends from .10 to 1 to 12 to 1, at which odds .-lie went to the post. She broke from the outside, ran around her company and, wearing the leaders down, won going away. Mr. May is reported to have won over ,000 on the race. A selling handicap at one mile and a condition race for three-year-olds at three-quarters -were provided as features. Wrap proved an easy winner in the latter race, but the handicap found Prineelike and Tom liayward under a gruelling drive through the stretch, with the Chinu entry first at the llnlsh by a short head, ltagman. the well-baeked favorite, showed a poor performance. He was riden by Guy Hums anil was never a factor at any stage. The horses race resulted in a ruling from the stewards which bars Ragmans entry for the remainder of the meeting. It was also given out that any other form reversals from this stable would result in the refusal of all of its entries until a trainer more competent in the opinion of the stewards than II. Marshall be employed. Jockey Hopkins, who had the mount on Stafford in the lifth race, was suspended for two weeks for rough riding. In the run down the backstretcu Hopkins pulled over, against Royal Onyx and threw the latter against the Inner rail. Royal Onyx was , ii keen factor at the time, hut the Interference put K -irith out of contention. White, Wool was ineligiblo to start in the third race because he had won two races of 00 value since October 1. A. G. Woodman and J. Gallin arrived from Tampa this morning with their horses.
