PLUVIOUS AND AL MULLER IN CLOSE FINISH. Fl Paso, Tex., March S. For an off day, the attendance at Juarez today was surprisingly good, and nlthuugh form was somewhat at a discount the days i-aciug proved enjoyable, as all the finishes were of the exciting sort. The stellar attraction of the afternoon was a handicap at three-quarters, in which the California colt. Pluvious, was installed favorite despite the fact that he was ridden by the novice Diggius. The stretch battle between the favorite : and Al Muller, in which the two horses ran head and head from the eighth jiost home, aroused the wildest enthusiasm, the winner remaining in doubt until tiie otlicial numbers were displayed. The success of but one of the public choices made 1 tlw day the most profitable one for the layers that they have had in some time. P. Dunne uncovered a good one in the first race ; in Damson, which was heavily backed and stood 1 a long and hard stretch drive in the last sixteenth or the journey to win. .Tockev Class, since his arrival here, has been inclined" to lie somewhat willful, and as a consequence " he has been suspended by his contract em-plover, A. !.
