JOCKEYS FOR THE LATONIA DERBY. Louisville. Ky.. June- C. — The last few days have produced some changes in the schedule of jockeys for Saturdays running of the Latonia Derby. Jockey Goose, who was to have ridden Mud Sill, will be astride Colston. This change mini s as a resuit of tin- contract that the colored trainer secured on this good riders services for Ihe Latonia meeting. Eddie Taplin. wle. was to have ridden Colston, will probably be si cured by trainer Finer to pilot Mud Sill. Trainer Bugene Lata is undecided for the present who he will have on Messenger Boy. but probably will avail himself of the opportunity to secure Kennedy. J. Bouncy has been promised the mount on Uncle Hen. should that horses owner decide to .start him. which is likely. The exodus of horsemen for the Kenton County track begins in earnest tomorrow and will include most of T. 0. McDowells racers. Others who will follow before the vwndup at Churchill Downs are T. Abadic. G. M. Mom. J. C. Milam. J. H. Meade and James Filzsiinmons. In the Abadie consignment will be Falcada, Light Blue, Tom King and Annuel It. Mayer. He will leave at Douglas Dark to be rested until fall the horses Ben Howe, Allendale Queen and Emily Morris. George Odom will campaign en racers at Latonia. including Prince Gal, Follie Levy. Nimbus. Maxims Pride. Ken I.asea. The Pippin. Kuclid. Fireman and Hilly Blent e. Prince Gal will continue to he in charge of J. C. Milam, who has had his training under supervision since the opening of tie- Kentucky racing season. In addition to Prince Gal Mr. Milaiii will take to Latonia Merrick. Dick Baker and the two-year-olds Phil K.. Mark A. Mayer. Monistow n. Buby H. and Miss Vassar. J. II. Meades list includes Chnpnllepec, Marian Casey, John I mis. Kompie and Del Friar. Eugene Elrod, who has been ill for a long time, is still in bad condition, and probably will not lie able to assume the ring management at Latonia during the earlier stages "f the meeting. During his absence this feature of the work will fall on Fred Milter and Ben Hinkle. According to the present plans of Manager Hach-meister there will he twenty inutiiel machines in operation during the meeting. An innovation will ho introduced this season by spreading the machines around to avoid congestion. Several of the machines will be placed on the l.-iwns. while others will lie arranged la the grandstand. The latter will be of the variety, ami will he for straight, place and show bettors. There will be eleven machines of the 82 variety in use ar latonia. previous experience cVm.instraling thai the machines of smaller denominations are these most la demand.
