GOVERNOR GRAY SAFELY AT HAMILTON. Latonia Derby Winner Will Meet Opponents Worthy of His Mettle in Saturdays Derby. Hamilton. Ont., June 15. — The meeting of the Hamilton Jockey Club which is scheduled to begin on Saturday next, promises to eclipse in importance all others hitherto given in this enterprising little city. The best thoroughbreds on this continent are gathered here, included in the list being the turf stars in the stables of August Belmont. K. T. Wilson. S. C, Hildreth. Kichard F. Carman. Thomas Clyde and other important owners from the metropolitan tracks. Interest in the opening days sports centers in the running of the Hamilton Derby, which is the leading feature of the seven days program. The latter will possibly be a starter in the Inaugural dash on Saturday. The officials will be the same that were employed by the club last season. Joseph A. Murphy will act is steward, while Francis Nelson and Joseph Burke will he the judges. Fred W. Gerhardy will serve as clerk of the scales, with Joseph McLennan as his assistant. A. B.
