S., Danville, 111. The parlay won. being void on the horse against which no show price was laid. H. B.. Hamilton 0. Mary Lee Johnson was not raced at Juarez. Her first racing was at Jackson ville. I-la. G. W. L., East St. Louis. 111. Sufficient money was "coming" to make the bet on Housemaid ami it lost. If you had said "if coming from winnings" it would have been different. E. E. B. and F. R., Cincinnati, 0. It developed afterwards that there was some mistake aliout bets being declared off in the case referred to. A notice was actually hung up on the judges stand to the effect that bets were declared off. but this was afterwards withdrawn for some reason not explained and settlements were made on the figures published. This was not known here until some days after the reply enclosed by you.
