OLAMBALA AGAIN IN FORM R. T. WILSONS GOOD HORSE WINS IN IMPRESSIVE STYLE AT FORT ERIE. S. C. Hildreth Scores a Double with Royal Meteor and Gold Blade. Latter Taking the Niagara Stakes at Remunerative Odds. Buffalo, N. Y.. July 0. Richard T. Wilsons good racer, olamhala. showed a return to his last veais form at Fort Erie this afternoon, when he won Hie mile and an eighth handicap, one of the feature races offered hy the Niagara Racing Association. Olamhala carried 121 i ounds. made all of his own ace and won under a pull. Usually Olamhala conies from behind. He was a good horse this afternoon and left the barrier with a keen desire to run. Goldstein permitted him to race away from his held rounding the first turn, but after assuming an easy lead took him under restraint and for the remaluder of the trip Olamhala little more than cantered. The mile and an eighth was run in 1:51$. Sam Hildreth furnished two of the afternoons ■winners in Royal Meteor, which took the third race, and Gold Blade, which won the Niagara Stakes, for two-year-olds. Both horses were ridden by C. H. Shilling and both were forced to stand long and hard stretch drives to win by small margins. Royal Meteor was favorite In his race, while Gold Blade was an outsider in the betting. The Belmont colt. Vestibule, was made favorite and was backed from even money to 3 to 5. Aldebaran, a well-thought-of inatdeu in the Wilson stable, showed a good performance in coming from liehind to finish second. SkQg 1.150 1:01 %ihc Niagara Racing Association is making an ••ffort to bring Watervale. Plate Glass. Fitz Herbert and Olamhala together in a mile and a quarter special race on Saturday. A liberal purse will be provided by the association. Jockey G. Archibald has parted company with Richard F. Carman, the lads inability to keep down to weight being responsible. It is Archibalds intention to go abroad and seek an engagement. A claim was put in for Uogon after he had been beaten in the third race, but it was disallowed by the judges on tin- ground that it was not received until three minutes after the time allowed. Jockey Byrne was suspended for the remainder of the meeting by the judges for rough riding. Mrs. L. A. Livingston. William Oliver and Amos Tnrney will remain at Fort Erie and rest their horses until "the next meeting of the Niagara Racing Association. Ivan Fox shipped his steeplechaser, Dick Shaw. to Philadelphia this morning to be rested until the fall meeting at Pimlico. Kverett and Warbler of the Quiney Stable were si nt to Shecpshead Kay this morning. They will be lakon up in the fall and probably raced at one of the winter tracks. W. M. Murray was a visitor at the Fort Erie track this afternoon. He said that another effort will be made to obtain a lb-onse to race at the Niagara Falls Driving Park, and denied a report in chculation to the effect that the proposed meeting which had been scheduled to open next Monday, w. iiid he held in defiance of the provincial authorities action in refusing to grant a license. The meeting will not be held until later in the season, if at all.
