SPOKANE MEN GETTING INTERESTED. Spokane, Wash.. July 12. — With Spokane promising to be tin- headquarters of a large racing population this fall and nearly 1,000 running horses quartered within twenty-two miles of this city for the Lake City meeting, tin- peculiar fact has come to light that then is only one Sp ikane man interested financially in running horses. Dan McEnroe saving tin- situation with his ownership of Royally, a former Spokane Derby winner, and Commerce, a young sprinter now in charge of F.d Qetcbel at Vancouver. However, with the establishment of racing in this part of the northwest, a number of sporting men arc-on the lookout for likely material. Reservations for stalls at the Lake City track continue to pone into the offices of the Cotter dAlene Fair and Racing Association. Among the latest applicants are: J. K. King, Petaluma Stable, eight stalls: J. H. Hanson, Florence Israel: Held 0 Mayer, Calgary, three stalls: K. D. Kaufman. F. W. Worsting, J. J. Connor and W. Gargets. Secretary Frank Smith has gone to Vancouver to interest horsemen now racing there in shipping to the new track.
