CATERING TO THE STEEPLECHASERS. The rewards for steeplechasers arc generous all around in Canada this season, and owners could have opportunity to run through the field every day of the season if they were willing to. For the young horses there is special encouragement in the races provided by the Ontario and Montreal Jockey Clubs at their autumn meetings, of which the conditions are: For three-year-olds Weight 135 pounds; winners once to carry five iwunds extra; twice, seven pounds extra; sex allowance; about one and one-half miles. For three-year-olds and maiden four and five-year-olds Weight, three-year-olds to carry 133 pounds: four-year-olds, 150 pounds; five-year-olds, 15S pounds; winners once to carry five pounds extrn; twice, seven pounds extra; sex allowance; about two miles.
