LOOKING AHEAD IN MISSOURI. St. Louis, Mo., August 17. A tract of forty-two acres on the Hudson road adjoining the limits oC Florissant has been sold to John Jackson by Jamea Lawritson, who occupied the place for twenty-two years. It is known as Edge wood. Atiout 50 aa acre was paid for the property. Mr. Jackson declares he will build a race track on the site if the Missouri Legislature enacts a law legaliaing tha pari-mutuel system ot betting. A survey of the property has been made by Macklliid and Stroop, who report that 15.000 cubic yards of dirt would have to be taken off to make a three-fourths mile track. The plan Is to build a hotel and clubhouse on tha hill overlooking the race course, the grandstand running along Hudson road.
