AMATEURS RIDE AT MUSKOGEE. Muskogee, Okla., August 17. A large crowd turned out today to witness the race for gentlemen riders, the feature event of the day. The winner turned up in Chippewa, ridden by Mr. Kelly, a local business man, who received an ovation when he returned to the stand. Mr. Cook, who rode Black Domino, was of little help to the mare owing to to the fact that he had done little preliminary work for the race, and he fainted shortly after the finish. In the first race Dan Home ran out on the stretch turn, carrying Glenii Scott with him. thereby ruining their chances. Hope, which saved considerable ground, was secoud. Clysmic was bid up from 00 to 05 by Charles Burgess and was bought in.
