NOTES OF THE TURF. II. B. Durveas The Irishman is the best two-year-old seen at the Deauville meeting, now going on iu France. Guv Garner piloted him to a brilliant victory in the Prix des Roches Noires Thursday. Frank J. Gould, who arrived here from Kuroe yesterday on the Mauretania, is much pleased with the results of his racing venture in France. His French prizes aggregate about 3,000 to date. Mr. Gould will increase his stable next year. James Rowe was at the Keeno stable at Sheeps-head Bay track the other day and looked the two-year-olds over. Mr. Rowe has still au interest in the Keene string and lie makes regular visits to see them work. All are looking well under Tom Greens handling and their fast work-outs leads to the belief there are some good racers among the colts. It is said on good authority that the Jockey Club did not approve of the two running races held at Parkville Trotting track last Saturday. The races were conducted without official consent and the turf governors will see to it that other proposed events of this kind are prohibited. By whose authority jockey Holmes, who rode in ono of these races, was suspended for one year is something that merits investigation, it is thought. New York Sun.
