THE PIPPIN steadily improved her position from a rearward start, slipped through next to the rail when entering the homestretch and, drawing away into a long lead, was eased up at the end. FLYING FOOTSTEPS showed great speed for the first half and led into the stretch, but was driving hard at the end to outstay TOP NOTE. The later was a forward contender all the way and made a game finish. MALITINE was slmUled back at the start. ABRASION closed a great gap into a close up fourth. MY FELLOW met with early interference, but steadily improved his position into a good third. EMERALD ISLE, a quick beginner, set the early pace, but tired and probably was short. OTTER showed speed. BLACKFORD was carried wide on the first turn, but moved up rapidly on the backstretch, then tired in the final drive. MELTON STREET, a forward contender all the way, came again near the end and was wearing BLACKFORD down for second place. TABOO could not keep up in the early running, but finished fast and close up. ONRICO is a slow beginner and was oil badly. COMMUNIST ran a good race, but tired. SETEN STARS set a fast pace to the stretch and tired in the final drive. MA GAL came wide when entering the homestretch and lost ground. BREVITE set the early pace, but quit badly in the stretch. The winner, entered for 00. was bid up to 05 and bought in.
