BED WELL HORSES REACH LOUISVILLE Louisville, 7Cy., September 14. The tracks dried out rapidly today at Churchill Downs and Douglas Park and by tomorrow the- courses at both places will bo fast. At the Downs this morning, the middle of the track was in fairly good .condition and as a consequence scores of horses were worked stoutly in anticipation of fast work tomorrow. Among the horses seen on the course were Worth. Harrigan, Wintergreen, Fauutleroy. Falcada, Prince Gal, Pink-ola, Oakland, Housemaid, Presumption, Judge Wal-ser. Mcicklcr, Augelus, Jack Parker, Stinger, Fput, Follic Levy. Jim Gaffney. Great Heavens, Keep .Moving, Round tho World, Millo, The Reach, Carlton G.. Pardner and Cash on Delivery. II. 5. Dodwell arrived at Churchill Downs today from Anaconda with fifteen horses. In the collection are Prince Ahmed, Nadzu, Rigliteasy. Endymioii II., SMhn, Knight Deck, Madman, Berkeley and Paja-roita. All the Bedwell horses "had a good trip from the west and appeared to be in good racing trim. R. F. Carman decided at the last moment to ship ten horses to Lexington. Others that -wont from here today were six horses in the stable of J. W. Frve, two in the string of James. Gritiin and two owned by C. C. Van .Meter. The latter sent Dutch liov and Cancel to the Downs from Douglas Park today. W. W. Harden brought three horses hero from Canada to race durlug the fall meeting which begins Monday, September 25, and lasts eighteen days. They are Little Father, San Ronita and his 1012 Kentucky Derby candidate. Reciprocity. Bruce Rice, owned by Mr. Harden, is still turned out on a farm in Tennessee, but he anticipates taking him up within the next week or two. II. G. Bedwell announced that his starter in the Kentucky Endurance Stakes to be run here on Saturday, October 7, would be his famous long distance horse, Nadzu, winner of the Thornton Stakes at Oakland, Oil., in 1!I00. Nadzu has a four-mile record over -this route of ground in 7:1SA. Mr. Bed-well reiKirted that he is doing well for the 5S.40O race. Former jockey John Gardner lias reached the city and his injured arm, which has kept him in the hospital at Covington for so long, .is now rapidly getting well. Air. Gardner will as usual act as commissioner on the Kentucky tracks this fall for Frank G. Hogan. Trainer Jack Adkins has decided to send none of the horses in the stable of R. J. Mackenzie to Lexington to race for the reason that he does not think any of them are quite ready. He sent Racing Secretary Shelley a check for his forfeit payments for the stable in tho stakes, at Lexington today. L. O. OLeary has arrived here from Chicago with Inclement and Gallant Pirate. The nine horses that John W. Schorr will send here from Toronto, Canada, ut the close of the meeting there, in charge of trainer John F. SchJrr, are Hamilton, John Reardon, Kdda. liauutess. Star Charter, Aylmer, Lady Kastman, Senator Sparks and Terrible Dan, which, with the string he now has here in charge of trainer Klijaii Brewster, will make eighteen horses that this Memphis turfman will race here this fall. Mr. Schorr has had a fairly good season. Fort Johnson, Flying Footsleps, Melton Street, Veneta Strome and Fountain Square are among tho R. J. Mackenzie horses trainer jack Adkins brought to Churchill Downs. They, as well as the rest of this stable, are looking and training well.
