WEIGHTS FOR TORONTO HANDICAPS. Assignments for Important Races to Bo Run During Woodbine Meeting Opening Tomorrow. Toronto, Out., September 21. Recent additions to the strings quartered at Woodbine include the horses of R. T. Wilson, president of the Saratoga Association: J. W. Schorr and J. W. Flynn. The training work of yesterday morning was practically concluded before a light shower of rain fell, and the track was improved by the sprinkling. Some of the gallops were: Aspirin Three-eighths in 40. Cliftonian Three-quarters in 1:18. Corinth Three-quarters in 1:182 Elwah Half mile in 49. Everett One mile and a quarter in 2:12; the first mile in 1:415. Golden AVcddiiig Three-quarters In 1:22. Guy Fisher Seven-eighths in 1:33. Jack Atkin Half mile in 54. Sir Raymond Three-quarters in 1:21. Theo Cook Three-quarters in 1:22. The steeplechase field was open for schooling, but only a few horses took advantage of the. opportunity. Some worked On the Hat and most of the others had been racing through the field at Montreal last week. The "iron men" have plenty of knockers, who have circulated the story that there would be bookmak-iug as well as mutucl betting at Woodbine this fall, and that next year bookmaking would be restored. There is. of course, no foundation for either statement. The last of bookmaking has been seen at Woodbine, and next year the machines will be universally used. Surreptitious handbooking there will always be, but the clubs will take such measures as will reduce it to infinitesimal proportions.
