JOCKEY GILBERT IS RULED OFF. Spokaue, Wash., October 23. Irish Gentleman clearly showed this afternoon that he is n horse of fmc class by winning the Silver Grill Handicap at one mile and an eighth. He went out in front at the start, made every post a winning one, and was only cantering at the end to win by five lengths. Rake finished second and Jack Paine was third. The finishes In nearly every race were of the hair-raising order, heads and noses separating the first and second horses in each instance. Mona Canomanu won the Inland Empire Handicap from Enfield and Napa Nick. Jockey Gilbert was ruled off for his effort on Enfield. The judges took the ground that he never made a move until entirelv too late.
