DIXIE KNIGHT, showing sudden and surprising Improvement, was badly outrun for the first half, but moved up with a good burst of speed while rounding tho far turn and got up to win in the last stride. ROEBUCK ran well and took the lead on the last turn, but tired badly in the last furlong. nALDEMAN was taken back on the backstretch, then rushed to exhaustion on the outside and went to the outside rence when entering the homestretch. The latter closed a gap and. finishing with a good burst of speed, was slowly wearing the winner down. SEMI-QUAVEU quit in the homestretch after showing Sliced and being in the lead in the final furlong. WEST POIXT showed speed, but tired in the going. SPELLBOUND quit after running prominently to the stretch. Scratched 99547 El Oro, 110; 99050 Horace E., 103; 09395 Agnier, 99. Overweights Springinass. 2 pounds.
