ON DECK GOES TO FORT ETHAN ALLEN. New York, December 20. On Deck, a horse that was raced witli notable success by Bromley and Co. some years ago, has been donated by the Breeding Bureau of the Jockey Club to the Tenth Cavalry, stationed at Fort Ethan Allen, Vermont, of which W. L. Luhn is captain. The reservation covers a largo territory, and the officers assigned to the fort have taken an interest in improving the military horse to a degree that is certain to bring the desired result. On Deck is a chestnut stallion, by Whistle Jacket Semper Paratus, by Stratford. He Is a big framed horse and of a type whose get will have the required bone and sinew necessary to cover great distances. A steeplechase course has been laid out, and over the field a set of horses will be schooled for racing at the hunt meetings to be given next season, under the sanction ,of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Association. The officers of the Tenth Cavalry were the best supporters of military races when such sport was first established. May Leo and Colored Lady represented Fort Ethan Allen at Saratoga, Brookliue. Pimlico and elsewhere. The otlicers that participated in the army races were Capt. Robert Wallach, Major R. G. Paxtou, Lieut. W. G. Scott, Lieut. E. T. Graham, Lieut. L. A. ODonnell, Lieutenant Green and Lieut. E. M. Whiting.
