Clatterfoot, and Necklace. Many of his young mares are of his own breeding. Mr. Vanderhilt has over sixty horses in training villi William Duke, his private trainer at St. Louis de Poissy, and nous of them next year will be over four years of age. He does not believe in keeping older horses unless tiny have particularly distin-• il themselves. His three-year-olds are a promising lot. including Montrose II., by Maintenon. and Petulance, by the same sire, these two having proved themselves the best colt and fillv of their ration in France.
