ANTI-BETTING BILL IN VIRGINIA. Norfolk, Va.. The bill reads, in part, as follows: "Be ii ■ nacted, by the Genera] Assembly i I* Yir . nla, that ii shall be nulawful for any person to bet, wager, or plaj a an] gassa for ssosje] at aaj thing oi valm . "Anyone violating the provisions of this net shall illty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction then •• shall be ftned not exceeding 11.000 and Imprisoned in jail for nol exceeding one year. "The ciii uit Courts and Justices of the peso shall bav concurrent jurisdiction In the trial of all cases under this act and the Commonwealth ami the accused shall hare the right to appeal from the decision ol the justices " the Circuit Court."
