FUTURE OF KENTUCKY DERBY ASSURED Louisville Jockey Club Will Make This Important Event a 5000 Added Fixture FixtureLouisville Louisville Ky April 15 M J Wiun manager of the New Louisville Jockey Club has silenced all I speculation concerning the future of the Kentucky Derby Some horsemen have been expressing con ¬ cern over this race in the years to come on account of the ruling of the Kentucky State Racing Commis ¬ sion abolishing guaranteed stakes This year the event as in previous seasons is a 0000 guaranteed stake 5000 of which goes to the winner Mr Winu announces that 5000 will lie added to the Derby of 1013 With the entrance money to the stake the Derby hereafter probably will be worth not less than 10000 possibly more He will take up the matter of thisrace with Secretary Lyinan II Davis after the spring meeting and will then de 1 clde when he will announce the conditions of the race It has been suggested to him that he close the event the coming summer when the eligibles are two years old and also have a reentering clause where by paying an additional fee an owner can enter his horse after the racer is three years old oldMr Mr Winn also announced that for future fall meetings the fourmils Kentucky Endurance Stakes will be a feature He will annually give 5000 in added money for this event
