WILL SETTLE KENTUCKY DATES MONDAY Lexington Ky June 29 Notices have been sent out by Secretary J Ielham Johnston for a meeting of the Kentucky State Racing Commission to be held on Monday next for the purpose of assigning dates for Kentucky race meetings the coming fall For the first time In many years the Douglas Park management at Louisville has appljed for dates for a race meeting and all of the other tracks of the state have also made implication those that have filed1 requests for dates being as follows Churchill Downs and Douglas Park at Louisville Lexington and Latonia LatoniaAs As Douglas Park did not obtain any spring dates It is understood that It will ask for an extended meeting this fall and with a meeting at this track which has not heretofore figured in the fall meet ¬ ings racing probably will begin earlier than usual in order to accommodate all four tracks It Is ex iwcted that Lexington will be permitted to open tin season as usual and it is probable that the meet ¬ ings will iHjgin early In September SeptemberSecretary Secretary Johnston stated that while all four tracks had filed applications for dates he did not feel at liberty to make public the dates for which each had applied Lexington is anxious to have altout nine days and desires to open the season or ferring to l egin about the middle of September Secretary G I Wilson however stated that per haps it would not be courtesy to the commission for the Lexington Association which he represents to announce the exact dates for which it has applied appliedIt It Is understood that the commission will expect the two Louisville tracks and Latonia to get to ¬ gether and reach some sort of an agreement upon the division of their dates and it Is presumed that thev have already done so before filing the appliea tions In any event the commission will of course permit no conflict and it is likely that If the dates asked by the various tracks aggregate as many days as they are exacted lo the commission may perniitj racing to l cgln early in September though no meet ¬ ing will be sanctioned In Louisville until after the State Fair
