Opening Buffalo X Y July 27 J W Schorrs luck which has been remarkable on the Canadian circuit this season was again to the fore at Fort Erie this afternoon when his entry Star Charter and Frog legs finished first and second in the Dominion Handicap one of the richest events of the season in Canada Star Charter carried 11 pounds and ridden by Butwell won bv three lengths from his stable companion Froglegs which In turn beat John Furlong by four lengths for second money Star Charters race represented a brilliant perform ¬ ance Outpaced in the early part of the race he closed a tremendous gap and finishing with a great burst of speed overtook the leaders in the Lome stretch to win going away The mile and a quarter was run in 203 a new Canadian record for tho distance The previous record 204 was made br lack Atkin in the first running of the Dominion Handicap in 1010 1010The The disappointment of the race was the showing of the heavily backed favorite Tho Manager What ¬ ever chance
