THE BLUE BONNETS FALL PROGRAM Montreal Quo July 31 Although the opening of tle Montreal Jockey Clubs fall meeting is still more than a month away the stakes to be run at that I inn will close on Friday next There are eight stakes to IK run during this meeting including three for Canadianowned and bred horses Among these events Is the Kings Plate to be rim on the opening duy an event for threeyearolds and upward dist ¬ ance one mile and a quarter The club lias increased the value of this stake by adding 1500 instead of the 1200 added last season The other for Provlnce breds is the Nursery Stakes live furlongs for two yearolds There are sixteen eligibles this season which Is more than twice the greatest number ever before named Another event for horses owned by Canadians residing in Canada is the Earl of Derby Cup one mile and threequarters This will attract tl best of the thoroughbreds owned in Canada in ¬ cluding Plate Glass of the Kobert Davies string stringThe The management of the club will make this meet ¬ ing one of the most attractive that has ever been held at Blue Bonnets There will be no purse of less Viilni than 500 This with the eight stakes and iiumiTous handicaps carrying added values of 00 Mid S700 will be a drawing card for the Iwst of the Cables now racing The other stakes include the Hwhelaga live furlongs for twoyearolds tbe Earl Grey Cup one mile and a quarter the Champhiln Selling Stakes one mile and the Strathcona ami Hendrle Memorial Steeplechases The meeting will fpen on Saturday September 7 and continue until and including Saturday Septemlier 14 14Joseph Joseph McLennan who is looking after stake en ¬ tries at tbe Fort Erie track reports that the mfi jorUy of the regular will return to Montreal this jail together with a number of newcomers There are over six hundred stalls at Blue Bonnets in the best of repair which will enable the club to take care of nil comers
