open at Douglas Park for a eriod of eighteen days The opening program on September 10 will be made up of the 4000 Douglas Park Inaugural Handicap and of five attractive overnight races arranged by haii dieapper Edward W Maginn Interest in the fall rao ing in Louisville is keen Five years have elapsed since the Douglas Park course was last raced over overUpon Upon all of the principal race tracks in this coun ¬ try at this time horses are being prepared to fill en ¬ gagements in the Douglas Park Inaugural one mile and a sixteenth Those in Canada taking work for the big race embrace such cracks as Star Charter Froglegs John Furlong Buckhorn Any Port Brig and Bell Horse Those at Havre de Grace include Granite Worth Holling Stone Sun Queen Sprite and Adams Express On the Kentucky courses such stars as Meridian Starbottle Bonnie Kelso Boola Boola Princess Callaway Mary Davis Countless Donau T M Green Presumption and High Private re being pointed for this rich stake stakeThe The inaugural will surely be a remarkable contest as may readily he seen by a review of the eligibles noted It is seldom that so many good horses arc engaged in a handicap all of which are in active
