FINE PROSPECTS AT OTTAWA Montreal Que September 11 The most recent addition to the Canadian Racing Associations cir ¬ cuit the Conuaught Park Jockey Club of Ottawa will be not the least creditable ot its members The plant and the condition of the work of preparation 1or next seasons racing are everything that could be desired At desiredAt the invitation of the club and under the direc ¬ tion of Manager Albert Kohrback a large party of horsemen and otlieials from the Blue Bouuets meet ¬ ing paid a visit to Ottawa last Sunday and saw for themselves They found a beautiful property in Ay liner road not more than twenty minutes run by trolley from Ottawas City Hall and reached also by the Canadian Pacific Railway The location and the outlook with the Ottawa River sweeping past eighty feet below the level of the track and the mills and the Ontario shore for u background could not be surpassed surpassedEverything Everything about the place is firstclass from the clubhouse where lunch was served to the stabling The clubhouse grandstand paddock jockeys house ring ollices and stables need but a few finishing touches to be ready for use tomorrow The horse stalls numbering over MO are completed aud are the eoua of any in Canada Several hundred more are to be added The track proper is Hearing com ¬ pletion and will be all ready this season so as to have the winters frosts and Hoods to settle it itEverything Everything is on a commodious scale an instance of which Is the line lawn that will stretch from the clubhouse to the paddock a hundred feet wide at the narrowest part The visitors all practical men were impressed with the evidences of the deter ¬ mination of the directors that Counaught Park shall be in the front rank and amazed at the forward condition of the building operations The uew club of which the Duke of Connaught is honorary presi ¬ dent will open its gates next spring for the initial meeting coming after Woodbine and preceding or following Blue Bonnets With a place in the Cana ¬ dian Racing Associations aud In such u fine sport ¬ ing community as Ottawa there is no doubt of its immediate and brilliant success
