PLANS FOR CHARLESTON MEETING Winter Racing to Begin at South Carolina Track January 25 and Continue Sixty Day Cincinnati O October 23 The Charleston racing Mutation was clarified today by the receipt of a letter by Frank B Bruen from General Manager Francis J Pons instructing him to secure the as ¬ sistance of J B Campbell and J Oscar Holder in compiling a list of twenty stakes to l e decided the omins winter at the Charleston track The stake vents will carry a monetary value of from 1000 o 92500 the lastnamed sum to go with the Pal uetto Derby Four of tho stakes are to bo for woyearolds woyearoldsAccording According to present plans the opening date will lc January 25 and the racing will be continued for sixty dnys with a probable extension of fifteen days No purse offering will bo of less value than JC500 and the purses will grad upward to 000 daily Most of the purses will be 400 and 500 The Charleston track according to reports is in excel J nt condition and owners desiring to ship there jit any time prior to the opening will not be charged for stall rent More definite plans as to the coming imeting will l e announced shortly by Mr Tons on Iris return from New York
